Born and raised in Philadelphia in a union household has helped mold Shawn who he is today. Upon graduating high school, he briefly attended college on a baseball scholarship and quickly realized he wanted to go into what he considers, “the family business”.
As a third-generation member of IBEW Local 98, like his father and grandfather, Shawn has made it known from day one in the business his passion for our union. Shawn quickly became active throughout his apprenticeship and continued after raising his ticket. He regularly attends union meetings and volunteers for picket lines, hand-billing, election day activities, and community projects throughout the jurisdiction.
Shawn Hayes Jr. has earned a great reputation and is known for hitting home runs for the 98-softball team and being a home run hitter with his tools both on the job and off. Shawn is currently engaged to be married this October.
